HMC practices the biblical model of church/storehouse giving.

When you give your tithe (10% of your income) or an offering (any amount over and above your tithe) to the church, we are able to fulfill the needs and operations of the church, as well as meet the needs of others. This includes our Social Initiative Ministries.

IMPORTANT

1 . Tithes should be given to the general church fund (NOT designated to a particular initiative or ministry). This allows HMC leadership to manage funds in a way that both meets the needs/operations of the local church, and allocate funds to the people and Social Initiatives who need it most - and you can get a tax receipt.

2 . Offerings (over and above your tithe) can also be given to the church general fund or be designated to our Social Initiatives department simply by marking it “Social Initiatives” and you can get a tax receipt.

IMPORTANT: The Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) does NOT allow churches to give tax receipts to giving that is designated to specific ministries of the church. I.e. “Camp Grace” or “Mentoring Moms.” Tithes to the general fund and offerings to the Social Initiatives Department can be receipted.
