A number of years ago, Pastor Derek launched a mentoring group called “Social Initiatives.” The purpose of this program was to mentor people over a period of weeks (one evening bi-weekly), in how to impact our community and nation beyond the four walls of the church. 

The first batch of leaders he mentored went on to create such impact in the city of Oshawa (and beyond), that the Mayor of Oshawa presented an award to this group publicly. This led to Pastor Derek authoring the book "Beyond the Four Walls", and helping other churches in other nations with the same kind of program - which led to even larger impact. 

Well, Pastor Derek has a vision to do this again here within our own HMC community! After all, the foundational mission of our church is to go beyond the walls and reach our society according to the mandate of Jesus.

❓Who can join?
Anyone is welcome to participate in this leadership mentoring.

❓When/Where is it held?
This group mentoring begins Thursday, March 20th at 7:30 PM on Zoom, and runs bi-weekly, for a TBD number of weeks. The mentoring is totally FREE and you can quit at any time if you desire. 

❓Are the sessions being recorded, in case I have to miss a Thursday?
Yes, all sessions will be recorded and made available to all registered participants
